Flow Wrap

Featuring FDA-approved packaging film

KEEP PRODUCTS FRESH WITH A RANGE OF FILM OPTIONS

Flow wrapping is an automated method of packaging that is widely used across various distribution and production industries. It is one of the most popular and cost-effective methods utilized for high-volume packaging systems.

Flow wrap allows each piece of product or merchandise to be quickly sealed in its own pouch. The flow wrapping process involves making individual product wrappings from a single roll of film by applying heat on either end of the product. Products move horizontally along a flow wrapping machine that seals each item by applying heat, pressure or both to either end and along the back of the product being packaged.

What is Flow Wrap film?

Co-extruded two-side heat sealable, biaxially oriented polypropylene film

Flow wrapping, also sometimes referred to as horizontal form fill and seal (HFFS), fin-seal wrapping or pillow pouch wrapping, requires specific machines designed to utilize a particular type of film called “flow wrap”. The flow wrap film offered by EIS Automation is made from biaxially oriented polypropylene film.

Polypropylene film is a popular choice for packaging food, textiles and other products where there may be moisture involved as this type of film won’t absorb water. Polypropylene is also considered one of the safest plastics on the market today, and it is FDA-compliant meaning it is safe for food packaging.

 Protected Products

2

Flow wrapping provides a protective barrier against UV rays, dirt, dust, and insects. It can also be used to preserve food products by providing a tight seal against oxygen.

  Increased Profit Margins

3

Flow wrapping products can also allow businesses to increase their profit margins by selling products individually at a higher cost per unit than in bulk.

  Product Consistency and  Brand Awareness

4

Some manufacturers may choose to print product information and other types of branding directly on the film. This is key for product packaging consistency and consumer brand awareness.
